Today we share a lovely testimonial from a very happy candidate placed by our consultant Hannah.

“The recruitment process and experience with Hannah and ASL has been amazing.

Hannah couldn't have been more helpful in finding me suitable vacancies and also providing excellent support with interview preparation.

Hannah was successful in finding me a job within 2 weeks which was great.

I have recommended Hannah and ASL to a friend who is looking into changing careers and I will definitely be in touch in the future if I wish to change jobs.”

Zoom, Skype, Teams and even the more tailored platforms are the new ways companies are recruiting in this current crisis and with new technology there are new ways of communicating.

Many businesses are now conducting interviews remotely, so to ensure that you are as prepared as you can be the team at ASL have come up with a step-by-step guide to ensure that your nerves are settled and you are ready to attend your interview with confidence!

Can you hear me?
▪ Make sure you know the platform on which your interview will be taking place
▪ Ensure your devise is fully charged
▪ Check that everything works, are you linked to the internet, your camera and microphone work?
▪ Practice with the technology by calling friends or family, do this in good time, so if there are any problems you have time to get these fixed

Can you see me?
▪ Make sure you are going to be interviewed in a quiet location with no interruptions
▪ Check your background, is there anything behind you which will distract the interviewer from you?
▪ Watch out for lighting if you have the window behind you as those looking at you may only see your silhouette, this will mean that the interviewer will not get any eye contact

Has anything else changed?
▪ No, please do prepare as you would for a face to face interview, make sure you know about the Company who you want to work for
▪ Have your own glass of water, your C.V and a pen and paper handy
▪ Dress in a professional way
▪ Remember to maintain eye contact as much as possible and smile!

Ending the Interview?
▪ No one will be showing you out of the premises, therefore the ending will be just the click of a button, so once you have asked those final questions remember to click the button!

When you’re taking A-levels or at university it’s easy to get caught up in all the study and socialising and not look ahead to after graduation, but even a quick look can give your career a clearer direction and a head start.

We would like to invite you for a #CoffeeChat to give you the opportunity to explore the financial services industry and find the area that’s right for you.

You’ll be able to get help and advice on areas including:
▪ the qualifications to take;
▪ what is going to look good on your CV;
▪ practice for interviews;
▪ and other guidance on how to get the job you want.

This should help you get all information needed to make an informed decision about the next steps.

From the outside it may look like a single entity, however the finance sector has a wide number of areas that will offer you a rewarding career. There are exciting opportunities in areas including trusts, funds, accountancy, business analysis, marketing, compliance, risk, HR and more.

In such a competitive market, the secret to starting a career in the finance sector is knowing the area which is right for you, and ensuring that you present yourself and your skills as well as you can.

Whether you are just starting out or looking for a change of career, ASL are here to help you navigate your way to your first job.

Today we share a lovely testimonial from Paulo in relation to our consultant Veronica.

Veronica straight away provided me with solutions to secure a new role – I have never gone down the route of temping and it was something I was not planning on doing but she explained it all and then I understood that it could be a very viable option.

She was able to secure a telephone conversation with the hiring manager within a few days and by the end of the week, I had got an offer, which meant I was able to leave my previous role and not worry about job security.

I really respect Veronica for her attention to detail, she really does listen to what you want to do and has a fantastic working ethic.

Veronica is also super respectful, and we never fail to have a laugh on the phone, she is a pure pleasure to deal with and a real asset to ASL and the best recruitment consultant that I have ever dealt with.
