S‭enior Finance Manager

Our client is a highly dynamic professional services firm offering Advisory, Tax, Audit and other assurance services to a large portfolio of international and local clients. They currently have a role available for a Senior Finance Manager to lead its core finance team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Director and be part of a wider operations team.

The successful candidate will have a critical and valuable position. They will have responsibility for management of the finance team, and will be at the forefront of executing some of the most important tasks in the annual cycle, including preparation of the firm’s consolidated financial statements.

Although the role will be based in Jersey the team is very much cross island and travel to Guernsey will be expected.


Management of the Core Finance team

● You will manage the members of the finance team responsible for
o Accounts Payable
o Staff Expenses
o Cash receivables; and
o Monthly reconciliations and controls.

● Your responsibilities will include:
o Managing the individuals in your team
o Cash forecasting
o The monthly cost accounting cycle
o Being the primary point of contact for issue resolution
o Preparing the annual financial statements for the group and its subsidiaries.
o Project managing the annual external and internal audit visits
o Annual cost budgeting.

Full training will be provided on the firm’s systems and processes and you will be given substantial opportunity to get to know those systems as part of the induction to the role.

Supporting the Finance Director
● Advising on strategic financial decisions
● Identifying and implementing changes and efficiencies to maximise the effectiveness of finance team processes
● Building and maintaining key relationships with the Group’s UK finance community

In supporting the Finance Director, you will be expected to have a wider understanding of the strategic direction of the Channel Islands firm and the wider Group network, and to offer advice on implementing key decisions.


Essential Requirements:
● Experience working in a finance or accounting related function previously for a period of at least eight years
● Strong technical skills including Excel, and an ability to learn other systems quickly
● Plenty of experience in managing a team
● Excellent organisational skills, having the ability to prioritise workload whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines

Desirable Requirements:
● An accountancy qualification
● Strong analytical skills
● Strong communication skills, particularly one-to-one in a coaching scenario
● Proactive, self-motivated and able to take responsibility for own work, be interested in self-development
● Knowledge of SAP is advantageous but not essential

● Due to license restrictions, they are ideally looking for an individual who is entitled to work in Jersey, however non-local applicants will be considered.
