Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Trust Officer

The main function of the Junior Trust Officer role will be to assist the trust officers with the administration of a portfolio of trusts and companies and to minimise corporate risk by ensuring compliance with procedures and legislation.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

Ensuring the efficient administration of a portfolio of trusts and companies.
To assist the trust officers with a portfolio of clients
To act as a point of contact within the firm for the client, together with the Directors & Trust Officers. This will involve responding quickly to, as well as anticipating client requests/needs, keeping clients and other client responsible staff informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided and maintaining regular contact with clients.
Attending to client needs in a timely, professional manner and maintaining knowledge and control over assets and activities of trusts and companies administered
Co-ordinate communication with directors and trustees, arrange board meetings
Prepare minutes, agendas, action points for review meetings
Arrange the drawing of cheques and online payments
Liaise with banks e.g. opening/closing accounts, completion of loan documentation
Monitor bank accounts and records therein
Liaise with other advisers including the banks and investment managers
Setting up and maintaining accurate and complete records for trusts and companies, utilising existing technology
To carry out general bookkeeping services for your portfolio under the supervision of the trust officers, including maintenance of accounting records, preparation of bank and investment reconciliations and resolution of problems arising
Review & co-ordinate payments (ensuring key payments are made)

Candidate requirements

Some trust and company experience would be an advantage
Be willing to work towards completion of a relevant professional qualification
Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
Understanding of trust concepts and practices and knowledge of practical trust and company administration
Flexible and adaptable working attitude.
Organised and methodical manner
Good IT skills – including proficient use of Excel and Word
Ability to be part of a team of professionals
Sound organisational skills
Ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients, professional advisors and colleagues, and to exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters
Willing to learn
