Senior Accounts Officer, Group Finance

Our client is an award-winning provider of fund, corporate and private wealth services to institutional and private clients across multiple international jurisdictions. An exciting opportunity has arisen within their Group Finance team for a self-motivated, enthusiastic senior accounts officer keen to take responsibility for coaching and mentoring junior members of the team and develop their skills in accounts preparation.

Purpose of job

To be a part of the fast paced and exciting Finance team based in Jersey. The role involves providing support to administration teams across various ICS jurisdictions in the functions of invoicing clients, preparing monthly management accounts and dealing with management information.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a Finance role and should be studying towards a relevant professional qualification. An understanding of accountancy standards and values, risk awareness and effective relationship management with internal and external contacts is required. Competence in written and verbal communication is required.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

• Liaising with teams in various jurisdictions to efficiently resolve complex queries on systems, invoicing and reporting
• Provide support to the senior team in the role of preparing the monthly management accounts
• Coach and mentor junior staff members and have direct oversight of their work
• Develop an effective relationship and clear lines of communication with internal contacts across the ICS jurisdictions
• Effectively handle and delegate the requests of external auditors within the required timeframes
• Develop an understanding of the Company VAT processes and ensure consistency across all jurisdictions. Includes the responsibility for timely submission of quarterly UK returns to HMRC
• Provide training on time and billing processes to administration teams via presentation
• Assist with various ad-hoc business projects as required by the senior management team
• Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
• Adhere to Company core values and expected behaviours
• Any other duties as deemed necessary by Management
