Our client delivers a comprehensive range of legal services to clients locally and around the globe. It is a really exciting time to join, as they are going through a period of ambitious growth, and the candidate will be involved in implementing the technology that will support this.

Overall Role Purpose:

The candidate will assist with the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. They will serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration for the groups’ server infrastructure, recommend the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications, and investigate and analyse feasibility of system requirements and develop system specifications. The role is broadly split between providing day to day operational support for existing infrastructure services and users of those services, and project based work leading to the development and deployment of new infrastructure and application services. The candidate will be working alongside a Senior IT Systems Administrator, reporting into the Director of IT.

Principal Accountabilities:

Support & Maintenance of Group IT Infrastructure
Diagnose System Problems
Design and Implement Solutions
Communicate Issues and Changes
Identify Opportunities for Improvement
Provide Support and Guidance for Service Desk Team

General Duties:

Support of infrastructure systems and software related to business systems
Support of all infrastructure hardware, network and storage configuration, data centre
operations and infrastructure software including but not limited to Microsoft server
platforms, VMware and Citrix
Ability to support a variety of technologies, business departments and systems, and
independently resolve problems and pro-actively communicate solutions
Ability to effectively make oral and written reports and presentations and prepare
clear and concise documentation.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with team and department
members and system users.
Ensure that system integrity is maintained and protected through adequate security,
patching and backups of all systems
• Provide cover in the event of absence of IT colleagues to ensure continuity of service
and processes
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of IT matters and development by participating in
educational/training opportunities, personal networking, membership of relevant
professional bodies, attending IT seminars and reading relevant professional
publications

Professional Qualifications/ Education Level:

• 5 years’ previous experience in an IT support role in a legal setting or other
professional environment
• A good educational background and ideally a recognised Microsoft certification or
similar is desirable but not essential

An in-depth working knowledge of the following technologies is preferred:

• Storage Area Networking (SAN)
• Microsoft Office
• FileSite/iManage
• Video Conferencing
• Cisco Telephony
• Cisco Networking
• A good knowledge of relevant legislation and exposure to ITIL
