Role responsibilities:
Mentoring of junior staff to improve their knowledge and understanding of core systems and applications as well as more general IT. Setting and monitoring of goals and targets in conjunction with Strategy and direction from the IT manager
Keep abreast of Cyber Security matters, best practice and advise the IT Manager of any significant threats or measures required to reduce the risk to the business
To ensure all data is maintained in accordance with policies and procedures.
Produce and deliver reports and Management Information regarding the IT function as and when required by the IT Manager.
Develop and maintain an expertise in IT applications and solutions adopted and to act as a central point of contact for answering queries as well as providing guidance on operation and use from employees.
Proactively monitor systems and infrastructure. Where appropriate, take steps to prevent potential issues from impacting the business.
Develop, document and maintain procedures as required to ensure that all aspects of the IT function are well understood and clearly detailed and documented.
Identify silos of knowledge within the IT team, communicate this to the IT manager and ensure that appropriate steps are taken to provide training and to ensure that no one individual is a risk to the normal operation of the IT function.
Provide support and resource for IT related projects as and when required to enable delivery of development initiatives undertaken by IT and Digital Transformation teams
Co-ordinate and implement application or system upgrades, often with external vendors, ensuring that all relevant plans and tests are in place and carried out, thereby minimising risk and impact on business functions.
Keep abreast of technical developments that may be of interest. Research business requirements and manage pilot projects as well as evaluate new systems.
Provide cover for the IT Manager when absent.
Candidates should have relevant IT experience, preferably within one or more of the following core technologies:
Microsoft SharePoint
Microsoft CRM
Microsoft Exchange
Microsoft SQL Server
Fusion – Flying Boat
Active Directory
Group Policy
Microsoft Office Suite
Citrix & remote access technologies
Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade experience
Networking : Switching / Routing and Security
IP Telephony
