Our client is a large, successful commercial company who are seeking to grow their management accounts team. Ideally they would like to recruit a qualified accountant, however they would also consider someone who is part qualified with relevant experience. They would support the completion of a professional qualification if needed.

This is a very exciting and challenging role and would suit someone who wants to work involved with the business. You will be responsible
for the preparation and analysis of all Management Accounts Reporting functions for a designated area. Highlight and correction of trends, processes and budgetary issues.

Principle Accountabilities

Timely and Accurate Management Reports
Period end journals and preparation of management accounts
Divisional Budgets and Divisional Forecasts
Preparation of monthly board packs and other ad hoc reporting

Responsibilities include

Period end journals
Cost of Sales calculations and review
Balance Sheet reconciliations
Maintenance of accurate month end files
Preparation of Timely and Accurate Management Reports
Responsible for the delivery of information to External Auditors
Full Control and Integrity of Business Unit ledger
Preparation of Divisional Budgets and Divisional Forecasts
Promotional analyses
Markdown calculations and review
Ad hoc reporting and analysis as and when required
Financial Review of Business Opportunities
Internal Controls for Financial related processes
Individually allocated responsibilities for the Management Accounts function
Assist with the training & development of new staff

In partnership with the Department
Work closely with Finance teams across Divisions
Champion and support the introduction of Finance & IS procedures
Act as Financial prompt to BU Managers, review and assist wherever possible
Work closely with the central teams in working towards common goals and objectives
To carry out other related duties as required by the Finance Director, Managing Director or Senior Management Team

Knowledge and Experience Required

Accounting Skills/Knowledge & analysis
Studying or qualified as ACCA, ACA, CIMA
Interpretation of Reports/numbers
Understand Process – End to end and effect on Accounts
Ability to investigate, negotiate, mediate and resolve issues
Change Agent
Ensure BU Managers have a full understanding of the financial aspects of their role
Ensure that Procedures relevant to Financial Information are fully understood by those responsible for their ongoing production
