How Does an Agency Work?
Firstly it does not cost the candidate anything. The agency charges the company, when a successful placement has been made.
Temporary/Contract
You will have an initial chat with a consultant to establish:
- How long you are available?
- What experience/skills you have?
- What kind of position you're looking for?
Then you will be asked to (if relevant) do a brief typing and/or input exercise. This is purely to establish your typing/input skills. These exercises are not to catch you out; they are used to help match you to the right temp/contract position. It is no good putting candidates into a position that is either over or below their capabilities. The objective is to keep both the client and the candidate happy.
Permanent
This is slightly different as most candidates seeking a new permanent position are already working, so confidentiality is of the utmost importance. An appointment is made with a recruitment consultant (who would be happy to meet with you at another location if you're worried about coming into our offices). They will discuss with you:
- The contents of your CV
- Your current position
- What kind of position you are looking for?
- What kind of company you would like to work for?
- Your career aspirations
- Your training needs
They will be able to advise you on various areas of the finance industry and what options are available to you.
Your CV is then re-typed in our format to include a "Personal Profile". This tells prospective employers a little bit about you and what you are looking for in a new position and company. We match you to our current and always speak to you first before sending your CV. You can dictate where you want your CV to go. We keep in touch with you with regard to interviews and give feedback to the companies on your behalf. We are also able to negotiate salaries and package and help with decision making.
Can I download a timesheet to save myself coming in to pick one up?
Yes. We are happy to offer our timesheets to download here, please hand in your timesheets in the usual manner.
