The Network Administrator’s responsibility is to maintain the stable operation of the company network. This includes planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting, all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate manner, and provide end user training where required.
Manage servers, including e-mail, print, backup, database, Intranet, Application servers and their associated operating systems and software.
Configuration and set-up of all new server systems required
Maintain VMWare virtualized environment & SAN storage
Maintain security solutions, including firewall and anti-virus
Maintain all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPS.
Maintain all equipment, hardware and software upgrades.
Perform system backups and recovery.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
Liaise with External Providers
Implement and maintain policies and procedures and update as per company direction.
Perform network and security audits.
Ensure the security and integrity of company data.
Provide 2nd/3rd level support for all escalated helpdesk calls
Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team
Provide appropriate cover for other staff members where required
Perform other duties as required by the IT manager
Technical Knowledge of Networks, PC’s and Operating Systems, including Windows Server, general UNIX knowledge
Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Server
Working Technical Knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards including firewalls, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, etc.
Strong knowledge of local area network administration
Software and hardware troubleshooting experience
Experience in data management

Technical Documentation skills essential
